Crossing my fingers

I got an email this evening telling me that my manuscript Demimonde is one of the 20 or so finalists for the Dorset Prize. This is about the 16th time it's been a finalist. Still, I'm fairly gulping for air.

Linda Gregerson will be judge.

Friends, oh, cross your fingers and toes for me.

Oh wow! Even being a finalist for that is HUGE -- I don't know how many manuscripts they got this year but I know they get mountains of them. Congratulations!!

Crossing everything, here...

Anne, Eduardo, thanks! I do feel lucky to even be in the running. And to have a dream.

Congratulations! You don't even want to know what I've got crossed, but I'm doing my part.

I checked out the guidelines to see what you'd win. $10,000!!! Good God. And besides the big one, they publish some finalists. You have a good shot at this. I'm crossing.

Thanks, y'all. I'm trying to keep it all in perspective. After all, there are at least nineteen other people wishin' and hopin'.
